In my career I have been to several parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. I have had interviews and conversations with many people, empowered and resilient women, men challenging gender roles in their cultures, and children that do not need to be anything more than children but that already carry unthinkable traumas at an early age. They have let me inside their homes and shared their life stories.
These images put together did not pretend to be anything more than mental flashbacks of flights, faces, skies and places that I have visited in the last five years. Through photography, I have handled emotional drain and processed what I have seen and heard, but most importantly, I have tried to capture my impressions of these human beings.
Now, I see these images as a personal tribute to all of them, the praise to their stories of resilience and strength, and their place in this world.
